Kansas Tribal Nations fight for cultural preservation at inaugural celebration
Grant Awarded to Wyandot Nation of Kansas
The Wyandot Nation of Kansas is a proud partner in the Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area and through the congressional support provided to them, the Wyandot Nation of Kansas received a grant award in the amount of $506.27 for Visual Aids to Tell Our History. which included Wyandot Nation of Kansas flags and brochures. Our Wyandot Nation of Kansas flags will fly over lands which were once our ancestors. Flags now fly over our ancestral land in Upper Sandusky, Ohio at the Wyandot Indian Mill and the Wyandot History Museum. Flags were also presented to the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library Kansas Room, the Wyandotte County Historical Museum and Kansas City, Kansas and Unified Government. The ability for the public to see our flag makes an impression and starts a conversation. Brochures provide an educational moment for the public to learn our story. We are grateful to Freedom’s Frontier for their support and friendship.
